Petit Fritz

We went for a tartar, mackerel, and a 220g steak at medium. Tartar: decent, could have stronger seasoning. The small portion is already quite big. Mackerel: splendid. Steak: looks plain but one of the best steaks in Munich. Crispy charcoal flavored crust and tender juicy inside, amazing texture. Pricey. Very good chips too. Petit Fritz, as the name suggests, is a small restaurant. It has many tables, but all of them are relatively small. If you want to share a lot of food with a lot of friends, plan more time as they have a wonderful menu, too many to choose from, but can only serve so much at a time. This could be a good place for wine and tapas too. Who would have guessed it from outside.

Very friendly service, food was delicious. There was no waiting time on weekday evening. I especially liked the beef tartar.

In general everything was wonderful, but we first wanted to get a reserved table and called them but the number wasn’t available… The food was amazing!!! We loved the mussels and steak frites. The service was interesting… they were nice but one of them was moody and clumsy! The atmosphere was very nice it had an open kitchen where you could see how they prepared the food! Also one disadvantage was that it was expensive!

Update: Meanwhile we were there plenty of times and we love this Place!! Feels like Paris in the Heart of munich. Unfortunately there were some miscommunications with the service but in the end they offered us cremant and water for free. So a nice experience and we will come again!

Summary: Long waiting time, crowded, and higher prices than usual. We visited the place on Sunday for dinner. It took us about 40 minutes to be seated. So I can't recommend it if you're hungry or don't have an additional hour of spare time. ⌚ I tried Merguez and a simple salad. The latter was pretty small for the price, though okay - iceberg lettuce with a balsamic spray. Meanwhile, the former was tasty and balanced; however, I was surprised by having non-spicy sausages, which were supposed to be at least mildly spicy. The place inside is very crowded and pretty loud. Last but not least is money - it is about 30% Premium here compared to a typical Munich restaurant.

Amazing vibe - a bit of Paris in Munich! Friendly service and tartines were good but can do better with the fish options! Smoked salmon was too much and needed for ingredients to diversify the flavor a little.

Excellent food and great location. Gives you the feeling you are sitting in a small brasserie in Paris. Staff is also super friendly. Good selection of drinks and wines. They do not accept reservations but there is a waiting list. Make sure to come early to avoid disappointment if not getting a table.

I absolutely love this place! It’s a classic French restaurant with an extensive and delicious wine selection. You can’t reserve, so you might need a bit of luck — but it’s totally worth it. The food is excellent, and there’s a large variety of oysters, with knowledgeable recommendations. The staff are also very friendly and wear stylish uniforms. A real Munich staple.
